Experience:
Legal Assistant, Syngenta Seeds, Slater, IA
January 2006 to present
Primary responsibility is preparing United States patent applications and legal filings for corn and soybean seed. Using MS Word and Excel I locate, select and insert tables, charts and information into these legal documents accurately, meeting crucial deadlines.
Scheduling/Permit Coordinator, The Building Inspectors, Huxley, IA
March 2006 to June 2007
The Building Inspectors provide third party municipal building inspections and commercial inspections for 18 central Iowa cities. I aided the new owners in creating and implementing several work flow procedures to make their business run more efficient. Other duties included fielding phone calls and scheduling inspections, required to be set within twenty-four hours, for four inspectors. I maintained their Access database, requiring all inspections to be logged and documented daily.
Soybean Production Administrator, Garst Seed, Ames, IA
February 1996 to June 2005
My main accountability was to oversee 18 contracted soybean production companies located thru out the US. I requested and logged soybean seed estimates during the growing season. I requested and documented the raw harvested seed statistics, adjusted raw inventory as it was bagged into 50 or 2000 pound units of seed. Accuracy was critical as this inventory was constantly changing and orders were being place against the current inventory and shipments were being arranged. I interpreted grower contracts to determine the number of bushels they were eligible to price and the number of bushels they were eligible to be paid for which equated to approximately 800,000 bushels of soybeans totaling $5,000,000 annually. I was responsible to accurately track all this information in MS Excel, MS Access and the in-house system.
Working independently a large percent of the time, I was able to develop my abilities to set goals, meet deadlines, set priorities appropriately and become a resourceful problem solver.
